Amina is short for Aminatu, who was a princess and renowned warrior in the Sixteenth century, based in the city state of Zazzau (modern day Northwest Nigeria). The bold kente in the bust area of the dress symbolizes her bravery and strength and the sexy stringed corsette along the side of the skirt captures the appeal she had to numerous suitors.
